The City of Lethbridge has hit a population milestone.

The 2019 Census results have been finalized and there are now 101,482 people living in Lethbridge.

That’s a population increase of 1.72% from last year.

City Clerk Bonnie Hilford says the information shows a steady growth in all major areas of the city but the west side saw the largest population increase with just over 2%.According to the data, the average Lethbridge resident is 38.4 years old.

These latest census results also mean Lethbridge has surpassed Red Deer in the population category.

According to that city’s 2019 census data, also released Monday, there are a mere 480 fewer residents living there.
