Construction on the new Great Bear Boulevard on the city’s west side continues to progress well.
Starting Thursday (June 13) people driving in the McMaster, Macleod Drive, and Mount Burke Boulevard areas will have access to new temporary lanes around Great Bear Boulevard.
These temporary lanes will allow for north and south traffic to continue on McMaster Blvd., preventing added congestion on University Drive which is also under construction.
The City of Lethbridge says this change might cause a slow-down in traffic in the area, so you should plan for extra time when travelling through that construction zone.
The temporary lanes are expected to be in place for about a month.
The road is under construction to accommodate the new west side fire station #5.
